Advocacy

ad•vo•ca•cy
n. The act of pleading or arguing in favor of something, such as a cause, idea, or policy; active support.

Advocacy is a fundamental and essential service. The Association advocates on all issues of concern to our members. The current topics of interest include the skills and labour gap, human resource solutions, safety, publicly funded procurement methods and education and training.

Being located in the capital city of our province puts us in a prime and unique position for this important work. We engage all levels of government directly or though our provincial and national Associations, BCCA and CCA. Combining the strength of all three levels of association provides a unified approach to issues. This is the most effective way to be heard and affect positive change in order to provide long-term support for the industry that is building BC and driving our economy. This dynamic industry employs thousands of people and is the pivotal force behind creating modern sustainable communities.
